MY FIRST WEEK AT DESIGN 101
Introduction
Hello Everyone, welcome to my first post here on medium, I’m Solaru Olusegun… I’m a student, passionate and open to learning. I’m basically into front-end web development and just a very little bit of computer graphics.
How I got into design
I’ll say I just began the journey of design. Infact, I’m just being introduced to a lot of stuffs I never knew before… Like the past few months all I do on my laptop was just to watch movies and play games until recently when one of my friends told me there was more and better things I could do with my system and he introduced me to blender and another of my friend introduced me to andela where I learnt little bit of front-end web development and I think I’m tending more toward the front end because I’m not really creative especially in computer graphics… That a little about me.
How I got into Senpai DESIGN 101
I would say it was a bit of an accident… It was few weeks back when I just flipped through my WhatsApp status and one of my friends posted something about senpai with a link so I decided to open it and when I reviewed it I thought this might just be a programme/course that could improve my creativity and so I registered and here I am in the closing of week 1.
My Week 1 At DESIGN 101
To be honest the week was a tough week even though my school hasn’t fully resumed… the week was really very busy as I had to combine little school work with learning JavaScript for web development (on edx.org) and at night I would come to check my mail for any assignment and podcasts on design 101…
What I’ve learnt so far this week
Really though the week has been rough, I’ve been able to gain a lot. I’ve understood what UI and UX are and I’ve learnt that design doesn’t have to be ambiguous.. Like good design should be simple and neat… I’ve learnt that it really pays to work hard in whatever you do , I’ve also learnt how to see things as a designer(like good webpages and all). I’ve learnt a lot of things that I can’t quite recall (when I’m typing this post)…
What I’ve made
This was our first assignment at design 101…
This is a login page I tried to create with HTML and CSS though i t doesn’t have a password validator(I haven’t learnt much of JavaScript)..
Here I was trying to render the image of a minion glass(the stuff that minions have on their eyes) using blender…
What I still Hope to Learn at DESIGN 101
I still want to learn so much of creativity and actually know where to focus on between front-end web development and computer graphics… and lots more…
